Picture saying “I do” with the Andes behind you, golden late-afternoon light falling across the vineyards, and one long table set between the vines for the people who matter most. A wedding in Mendoza is exactly that: a setting that needs very little decoration, because the landscape already does the work.
This guide brings together what couples from the U.S. and Europe need to know to plan a winery wedding in Mendoza, Argentina: where to celebrate, when to go, how your guests get there and what to settle early.

Why Mendoza is so special for a wedding
Mendoza brings together three things that rarely appear in the same place: mountains, wine and privacy. The climate is dry with plenty of sunny days, and the region is built around wineries that, in many cases, can be booked exclusively. During your wedding, the property belongs only to you and your guests.
For couples who want a destination wedding with a real sense of place, rather than another beach or resort, that combination matters. The food, the cellar, the winery architecture and the view of the Andes become part of the story without any effort.
Uco Valley or Luján de Cuyo: where to celebrate
- Uco Valley. The heart of modern architecture and high-altitude winemaking, about 1.5 hours from the city of Mendoza, with the most striking views of the Andes. Ideal for couples who want contemporary wineries, luxury lodges and complete privacy.
- Luján de Cuyo. Closer to the airport and the city (30 to 40 minutes) and known as the birthplace of Malbec. Historic wineries, traditional architecture and grand gardens. A great choice when easy logistics for guests come first.
Winery wedding venues in Mendoza
WeddiPass works directly with selected properties in the region. Some of the venues we present to couples:
- Huentala Wines (Rastro restaurant): celebrations of up to 200 guests, with chef-driven cuisine at the center.
- Salentein: also up to 200 guests, with the scale and architecture of one of the region’s great wineries.
- Casarena: a more intimate space for up to 80 guests.
- Susana Balbo Unique Stays: designed for small, intimate weddings of up to 30 guests.
These are maximum capacities: every venue welcomes smaller groups naturally, and an intimate wedding loses nothing in elegance. If you already have a winery in mind that is not on this list, WeddiPass can take care of your wedding there too.
Booking any of these venues through WeddiPass costs exactly the same as contacting them directly, and you also get our concierge service at no extra cost.

The best time of year to get married in Mendoza
Mendoza is in the Southern Hemisphere, so its seasons are the opposite of North America and Europe. Each one has its own personality:
- Autumn (March to May): harvest season. The vineyards turn gold and red, the weather is dry and stable, and the light is beautiful for photography. The most requested season for the classic winery look.
- Spring (September to November). Vines in bud, mild temperatures and snow still on the Andes for a striking contrast in photos.
- Summer (December to February). Long days and sunset ceremonies, but hot afternoons. It is also the busiest season, and the famous Vendimia harvest festival takes place in early March.
- Winter (June to August). Snow-covered mountains and a cozy atmosphere, best for smaller celebrations and indoor dinners with a view.
The most wanted dates, especially in autumn and spring, are usually the first to be booked by the wineries. The sooner you choose your season, the more venues will be open to you.
Getting to Mendoza
Most international guests connect through Santiago de Chile or Buenos Aires, both with direct flights from North America and Europe, and then take a short domestic or regional flight to Mendoza (MDZ). Routes and frequencies change by season, so we confirm the best options for your dates and help design your guests’ arrival as part of the planning.
What a winery wedding in Mendoza costs
Reference prices start from USD 10,000* for the exclusive use of the venue and from USD 250* per guest for food and an open bar with premium local wines. A full wedding weekend in Mendoza starts from USD 60,000*. You’ll find the full breakdown in our guide to what a destination wedding in South America costs.
*Reference for celebrations of 50 to 80 guests. Costs depend on the type of celebration: intimate weddings with few guests and elopements are planned differently and don’t start from these figures.
A three-day wedding weekend in Mendoza
- Day 1: welcome party. A relaxed sunset cocktail in the vineyards, with a contemporary Argentine asado and local wines.
- Day 2: the wedding. A late-afternoon ceremony in the golden light over the vines, followed by a wine-paired dinner and party.
- Day 3: farewell. A slow brunch by the pool or a closing lunch at an award-winning restaurant.
Details that make a difference
- Lock in the winery before booking flights. Venue availability sets the calendar, not the other way around.
- Plan for distances. Wineries sit in different areas, and travel time from the airport and hotels needs to be part of the schedule, with private transfers for guests.
- Plan for the temperature swing. A wedding that starts at 75°F can end on a chilly night. Indoor-outdoor venues and a few warm touches for the evening make all the difference.
- Legal ceremony. Many international couples sign the legal paperwork at home and celebrate a symbolic ceremony in Mendoza. Each case is different, and we point you to the right path in your proposal.

Frequently asked questions about getting married in Mendoza
How far in advance should we start planning?
The earlier the better, especially for autumn and peak summer dates. Twelve to eighteen months gives you the widest choice of wineries and dates.
Do we need to visit Mendoza before the wedding?
It’s not required. Many couples decide from presentations, photos and videos of venues we know in person. If you’d like to visit, you can combine the trip with a tasting.
Can the ceremony be outdoors in the vineyards?
Yes. Most weddings in Mendoza hold the ceremony outdoors with the Andes as a backdrop, and luxury wineries always have an elegant plan B, such as a barrel room or a glass-walled hall.
Can we have a small wedding?
Yes. Venues welcome small groups naturally, and some properties are designed precisely for intimate celebrations of up to 30 guests.
Do you also plan weddings outside Mendoza?
Yes. We also work in Patagonia, Chile and Uruguay. See our Northern Patagonia wedding guide and our guide to a destination wedding in Chile.
