Northern or Southern Patagonia?

- Southern Patagonia is wild and vast: the steppe, glaciers and the Torres del Paine massif. It suits intimate weddings and elopements, with guests flying into Puerto Natales or Punta Arenas.
Northern Patagonia wedding venues
Hotel AWA, Puerto Varas
A design hotel on the shore of Lake Llanquihue, with the Osorno volcano on the horizon. Glass, volcanic stone and native wood frame the landscape: ceremonies by the lake, receptions in glass-walled rooms and a spa pool that opens onto the water. Best for: intimate to medium-size weddings and full buyouts. Real wedding: Claudio and María José celebrated here with a two-night buyout and their closest family and friends.
Futangue Hotel & Spa, Lake Ranco
A boutique lodge inside a private nature reserve of 13,500 hectares, with forested hills, rivers and waterfalls. Ceremonies in forest clearings, a lodge of stone and wood, and more than 100 km of private trails for guests. Best for: larger celebrations and multi-day weddings. Real wedding: Laura and Nico spent three nights at Futangue so their families from the U.S. and Chile could meet.
Refugia, Chiloé Island
A contemporary lodge on the island of Chiloé, a place of myths, wooden churches and water in every direction. Clean architecture, a spa and a slower rhythm that turns a wedding into a retreat. Best for: intimate weddings with a sense of discovery.
Puyuhuapi Lodge & Spa, Patagonian fjords
A secluded lodge on a fjord in the Aysén region, next to Queulat National Park and its hanging glacier. Natural hot springs by the water, fjord-view terraces for the ceremony and lounges with fireplaces. Guests arrive along the Carretera Austral or by sea. Best for: adventurous couples and medium-size groups.

Tierra Patagonia Hotel & Spa
A lodge that seems carved into the steppe, on the shore of Lake Sarmiento at the edge of Torres del Paine National Park. Floor-to-ceiling windows, a panoramic hall for the reception and the Paine massif as the backdrop for outdoor vows. Best for: intimate weddings with a cinematic setting.
Awasi Patagonia
A Relais & Châteaux lodge in a private reserve facing the Paine massif and Lake Sarmiento. Private villas, each with its own guide and 4×4 vehicle, so every guest explores Patagonia at their own pace. Best for: very intimate weddings and elopements with the highest level of privacy.
Estancia Cerro Guido
A historic working estancia on the Patagonian steppe, with views of Torres del Paine and a pioneering puma conservation program. Century-old houses, horseback rides with local baqueanos and farm-to-table banquets with meat raised on the estancia. Best for: intimate weddings rooted in Patagonian tradition.
Hacienda Dorotea
A private property in Chilean Patagonia, restored to keep its rustic character, surrounded by mountains, forest and open sky. Ceremonies in the meadows, receptions in spaces of wood and stone, and long communal tables by candlelight. Best for: relaxed, authentic weddings with close friends and family.

When to get married in Patagonia
- Summer (December to February): long, bright days. In the south, afternoons are windy, so we plan wind-proof setups.
- Autumn (March to May): golden colors and more stable weather. Often the most balanced season, especially in Torres del Paine.
- Spring (September to November): wildflowers, fresh skies and changing weather.
- Winter (June to August): snow and fireplaces in the north; in the far south it is a quiet season, better suited to small escapes than to weddings.
Getting to Patagonia
International guests fly into Santiago de Chile and connect to the airport closest to the venue: Puerto Montt for Puerto Varas, Osorno or Valdivia for Lake Ranco, Castro for Chiloé, Balmaceda for the fjords and Puerto Natales or Punta Arenas for Torres del Paine. We plan the transfers and the guests’ arrival as part of the wedding.

Can we book an entire lodge for our wedding?
Often, yes. Several of these venues can be reserved exclusively, so you and your guests are the only people on the property. Availability depends on the dates, which is why we confirm it early.
Is Patagonia good for an elopement?
It’s one of the best places in the world for it. Lodges like Awasi, Tierra Patagonia or Cerro Guido are ideal for a couple or a small group, with ceremonies in the open landscape.
Which part of Patagonia is easier for guests?
Northern Patagonia. Puerto Varas and Lake Ranco are reached with a short domestic flight and a transfer, which makes larger guest lists simpler. The far south is more remote and more spectacular, and suits smaller groups.
